Purpose of the Program

The medical education program at the University of Georgia (UG) aims to prepare competent, responsive, and fair medical professionals (doctors) who are willing to renew their knowledge and skills continually. These doctors are trained to serve in various roles, such as medical practitioners, curators, educators, scholars, human rights defenders, and leaders, facilitating both local and global public health and welfare. After completing the educational program, graduates are equipped to pursue Master's or Doctoral studies in Georgia or abroad, undergo residency courses, and obtain the right to independent medical practice. They can work as junior doctors in Georgia, performing functions under the instructions and responsibilities of medical practitioners with independent practice.
